Friday (12/6/13): Both Karen and I got over 7 hours of sleep (after taking a 2 hour nap in the afternoon). Yeah! My poor wife really needed it.
I have an IV antibiotic appointment in Eau Claire at 1 p. It should take an hour.
My biggest complaint is what I call my "salt sours". I had so much saline in hospital that I exude salt. All my secretions are so salty that I get an upset stomach all the time. I wretch and have dry heaves several times a day. My tears are so salty they burn my face. So please pray that my salt levels go down soon. That's my biggest discomfort so far.
I do have a bit of phantom feelings. Not really pains but my foot itches or my ankle feels stiff. I have only had REAL pain a couple of times. They pass when I take deep, calming breaths. I often focus on riding my motorcycle along the river Roadwhen I have pain. That is a picture of joy and relaxation to me. I believe that it will be possible to still ride, but I'll need some riding buddies for support when that time comes.
Today we'll start the process of rearranging things for my access. I'm supposed to use a wheel chair for everything. I use a walker for transfers (bed to wheelchair, etc.)
So happy to eat at the dining room table this morning. What joy to look out and see sunshine and watch the trash truck drive by.
