I will now be posting my email updates that I sent out to friends and family:
Wednesday (12/4/13): First of all thanks for your cards, notes, visits, and prayers. I'm stronger knowing I have your support.
I might be going home today if we get all the specialists on my team to sign off. For sure, I'll be home on Friday.
Therapy is going well. Exercises are no problem. Transfers going extremely well. And I walked 70' round trip.
My biggest problem is the amount of saline solution I've had. Everything is salty. My tears burn my face. Drainage down my throat makes me nauseous I am fighting nauseousness constantly and then never being comfortable, etc. Last night it took over two hours to get to sleep because of it. My poor wife bore the brunt of my demands, complaints, and complaining. She has been my wonderful support every 'hop' along the way. Crisis often makes couples either draw closer or farther apart. This event has help draw us very close. I am so grateful for her attentive care.
With the saline, I believe the hospital is attempting to convert me into a PIRATE. First the peg leg, now making me a SALTY sea dog. Aaargh!
