Update:
I had a busy day on Sunday. Never got a nap. Didn't get to sit down and relax until after 7 p.m. But when I did, that felt so good!
Monday morning I'm headed to a conference in Green Lake, WI. I hope to come back refreshed and challenged on Tuesday evening. You probably won't hear from me again until sometime on Wednesday.
I've been trying something that was suggested at my last prosthetist visit. I don my prosthetic leg and stay in the wheelchair for at least 30 more minutes. Then I check my fit and add socks as necessary. This gives time for my leg to settle into the socket. It seems to be helping with the pain I was experiencing every morning when I was just putting the leg on and going. I really hate being tied to the chair when I am mentally ready to roll; but I'll trade a little frustration for a little less pain in the morning.
I have found that since the temperature drop, my silicone liner is COLD when I put it on in the morning. It doesn't take too long to warm up; but it is a "refreshing shock" as the cold silicone rolls up my residual leg. Sort of like jumping into a cold shower before the water warms up. I suppose that I could try to warm it up a bit with a blow drying before donning it; but that seems like a lot a work to go through. As it gets colder, I might change my mind on that; but for right now I think I will just bear with it.
